Claims Guide
This page describes the steps an agent will follow in the Equinox system to submit a First Notice of Loss (FNOL).
- The FNOL is the first step in initiating a flood insurance claim.
- Agents will use the Equinox system to provide essential details about the loss and submit the claim for processing.
- Required documents and information must be gathered before starting this process.
Steps to Submit FNOL
- Log in to the Equinox system and navigate to the policy requiring a claim submission.
- Use the search bar to locate the policy by number, address, or policyholder name.
- Confirm that the policy is active and eligible for claims submission.
- Select the "Claims" tab or menu option for the policy.
- Click the "Submit FNOL" button to start the submission process.
- If the button is not visible, ensure the policy meets the eligibility requirements.
- Complete the FNOL form with the following details:
- **Policyholder Information**: Verify and update contact details as needed.
- **Loss Details**: Include the date of loss, cause of loss, and any preliminary damage estimates.
- **Property Information**: Confirm the affected property address.
- **Supporting Documents**: Upload any required documents, such as photos or third-party reports.
- Review the entered information for accuracy.
- Submit the FNOL.
- A confirmation message will appear with a claim reference number.
- Note the reference number for follow-up purposes.
Common Issues
- FNOL submission errors due to missing policy details or eligibility issues.
- Double-check that the policy is active and matches the date of loss criteria.
- Uploading large files may cause delays.
